Building a biological plant in Segrià that transforms waste into sustainable resources.
The Challenge
The challenge of the project was to build and operate an efficient biological plant for the sustainable management of pig waste from a farm, with the goal of reducing environmental impact and obtaining economic benefits through its transformation into fertilizer.
The RAACPUR plant ensures efficiency in the sustainable management of the farm's pig waste, transforming it into fertilizer and responsibly utilizing water resources.
The Solution
The solution involves running the RAACPUR plant to treat pig waste from the breeding sows and fattening pigs at the farm, with the purpose of applying the resulting fertilizer to the available hectares within the same farm and distributing the liquid fraction through sprinkler irrigation. This way, 100% of the water used in the entire treatment process is effectively utilized.
The purifying capacity of the RAACPUR plant, which is 21,600 m3/year, allows for the efficient management of the waste produced by the breeding sows and fattening pigs housed on the farm, resulting in a significant improvement in waste management, consequently reducing environmental impact, and achieving economic benefits through the application of the generated fertilizer.
