Vehicle transfer
What documentation do we need?
- Individuals: Valid DNI or NIE. If the address is not correct, provide a current proof of residence certificate.
- Companies: Company's CIF and the administrator's NIF.
- Vehicle technical data sheet: It's not essential for the ITV to be up to date.
- Original vehicle registration certificate or affidavit of loss (access to the document).
- Motor vehicle tax (IVTM) receipt from the previous year: It's not necessary to present it, but it should be paid up to date to complete the procedure.
What documents will you need to sign?
- Purchase agreement signed by both parties (access to the document) or, in the case of businesses, the sales invoice.
- Mandate signed by the buyer and the seller (individual document). This document is signed at our offices or through our application, in case you cannot come in person: Sign the mandate online.
Transfer of vehicle ownership in inheritance cases
What documentation do we need?
- Valid DNI or NIE of the inheriting person. If the address is incorrect, provide a current proof of residence certificate.
- A responsible statement for the change of ownership due to the death of the owner (access to the document).
- Original deed of acceptance of inheritance.
- Models 650 and 660.
- Signed mandate: This document can be signed at our offices or online: Sign the mandate online.
- Vehicle technical data sheet: It's not essential for the ITV to be up to date.
- Original vehicle registration certificate or affidavit of loss (access to the document).

Reports

Duplicate driver's license
- Change of address: Update your details with the traffic authorities.
- Theft or loss: We recommend filing a report to avoid problems. You'll need to get a duplicate of your driver's license.
What documentation do we need?
- Valid DNI or NIE of the inheriting person. If the address is incorrect, provide a current proof of residence certificate.
- You will need to sign the necessary forms at our offices.
Change from NIE to DNI: Have you recently acquired nationality? You will need to update the information on your driver's license by requesting a duplicate document. In addition to the previous documentation, you will need to provide:
- Original driver's license.
- 1 ID-sized photograph.
Exchanges
What documentation do we need?
- Valid DNI or NIE. If the address is not correct, a valid certificate of residence (“empadronamiento”) must be provided.
- Valid driving licence.
- Hold one of the following certificates: Cl@ve móvil, Electronic certificate, or Cl@ve permanente.
- Psychotechnical certificate: When you contact us, we will inform you when it must be done, as it has an expiration date.
- Sign the documents at our offices.
Each country may request additional information. We recommend that you contact us to review the requirements for your country of origin.
International permits
If you're traveling outside of the European Union and plan to drive, you will need an international driver's permit, which is valid for one year.
What documentation do we need?
- Valid DNI or NIE. If the address is not correct, a valid certificate of residence is required.
- Valid Spanish driver's license.
- 1 ID-sized photograph.
- Signing of documents at our offices.
Deregistration
Temporary deregistration
- Has your vehicle been stolen?
- Have you sold the vehicle and still receiving fines?
- Are you being charged the CO₂ tax even though the vehicle is not in use?
You can temporarily deregister this vehicle. Currently, temporary deregistrations have a duration of one year, and the vehicle can be re-registered voluntarily when the owner wishes.
Important: If you want to sell your vehicle that has been deregistered, you will need to re-register it before doing so.
Community transit
If you permanently transfer the vehicle to another EU country, whether for a sale or another reason, you need to request a community transit deregistration so that it can be registered in the destination country.
For export
If you permanently transfer the vehicle to a non-EU country, whether for a sale or another reason, you need to request a community transit deregistration so that it can be registered in the destination country.
Important: You must have a valid vehicle inspection (ITV).

- Companies: Company's Tax ID (CIF) and the Tax ID (NIF) of the administrator.
