An Innovative Warehouse for Industrial Pastry: Design, Construction, and Guaranteed Energy Efficiency

We have carried out the executive project for civil engineering and installations and the direction of a 4,000 m² controlled temperature warehouse for industrial pastry food products in Igualada.

The Challenge

The challenge has been to design and construct a space that meets the specific preservation needs of food products. This involves selecting the appropriate materials for the warehouse construction, ensuring an efficient refrigeration and air conditioning system that maintains a constant and controlled temperature, as well as guaranteeing the food safety of the stored products at all times. It is essential to consider regulatory requirements and good food handling practices throughout the construction and installation process. Furthermore, the efficient management of energy resources to minimize environmental impact and ensure the sustainability of the warehouse is crucial. In summary, the challenge of this project has been to create an efficient and safe space that meets the specific preservation needs of industrial pastry food products, ensuring their quality and safety.

The Solution

To address this challenge, we have proposed the development of an executive project for civil engineering and installations that considers the specific needs of industrial pastry. This includes the selection of materials and the use of thermal insulation to ensure optimal storage temperature, as well as the installation of an efficient refrigeration and air conditioning system using sustainable technologies. In addition, compliance with food safety regulations is important to ensure that the products are well-preserved and not contaminated. For this purpose, technical specifications and design for the installation of doors, windows, and ventilation entries must be met, as well as the characteristics of the surfaces, which must be resistant and easy to clean.
