Cheongju delegation visits Grup Carles to learn about sustainable solutions for livestock manure
RAACPUR
This week we had the opportunity to welcome a delegation from the Cheongju City Council (South Korea) to our facilities. Their stay in the region is part of an official trip to discover cutting-edge initiatives in sustainability, and they wanted to see first-hand the model we promote at Grup Carles for the treatment of livestock manure.
During the meeting, the Korean representatives were particularly interested in the work that our engineering team is doing in this field and, specifically, in the high-load aerobic reactor (RAAC®) technology used in RAACPUR livestock manure treatment plants. This is a proprietary solution that we have created to respond to one of the major environmental challenges facing the Catalan livestock sector.
Livestock manure in Catalonia: a national environmental challenge that requires sustainable solutions
Catalonia accounts for a significant proportion of Spain's pig production, which generates large amounts of slurry. The management of this waste is key to preventing impacts on soil and aquifers, and increasingly stringent regulations are forcing us to move towards more efficient and sustainable treatment systems.
Pressure on land and the lack of available agricultural land have highlighted the need to incorporate technologies that enable alternative and scalable management. In this context, Grup Carles Rural's - RAACPUR slurry treatment plants, which work with RAAC®, have established themselves as a useful tool for many farms seeking real and viable solutions.
International interest in Catalan solutions for sustainability and livestock waste management
The visit by the Cheongju delegation confirms that the Catalan model of environmental management is attracting interest beyond our borders. The Korean representatives wanted to explore the possibilities of applying RAAC® in agricultural and livestock contexts similar to their own, and showed great willingness to explore future synergies.
“Sharing experiences with international institutions allows us to disseminate the technological knowledge developed here and position Catalonia as a benchmark in applied environmental solutions,” added Xavier Carles, CEO of Grup Carles.
Commitment to sustainability
For Grup Carles, this visit is a new opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the transition towards more sustainable models. We continue to work to make technology an ally in reducing environmental impact and improving efficiency in the livestock sector.
